Continuum – an object of time.

Continuum as the name suggests is a décor dictated by a series of movements that displays a progression in the form of a calendar. A calendar with no dates but imprints of memories. It is a translation of the idea of passage of time into an object perceived through movements and patterns. The temporal relation between each of the wood blocks orchestrated by the user defines the time passed. It can literally and perceptually slow down, speed up or pause if the individual wishes. The progression is created by the individual who decides the speed and pattern. Materiality: The colorful wooden blocks are set within a black painted wooden frame representing the void in time. The wooden blocks representing each day are sourced from discarded wood waste repurposed into beautiful, naturally colored blocks. Each wooden block consists of two sides of varying color and texture with 7 horizontal/vertical markings denoting each day. Each block represents a week on each side.

The repurposed block narrates the story of its life cycle thereby reinforcing the relationship between human interactions with the object even before its creation.
